After a 4 am start in early February and 4 hours of driving, is the hardest part of the Hyakumeizan going to be the driving? Less than 2 hours on Amagi before another 3 hours’ drive to Tanzawa.
Even now in mid-winter, it was surprising to find so much snow on both mountains. Glad to have packed the 4-point crampons. Hana had her own. Always carries them.
